SIL Galatia Download
Galatia and Unicode
The SIL Greek Font System is a pre-Unicode or “legacy” font system which was originally released by SIL in 1998. These fonts have been superceded by Unicode-encoded Greek fonts, such as Galatia SIL or Gentium — a typeface for the nations.

Downloading and Installing the Windows Package
To download the full package (including the fonts, utilities and documentation) click on the link below. The download file SILGREEK.EXE is a self-extracting archive. After the download is complete use File Manager or Explorer to select the drive icon where the SILGREEK.EXE file is located. Find SILGREEK.EXE in the directory window and double-click on it. This will extract the files to the current directory. (In the Windows 3.1 File Manager you may need to press F5 to update the directory screen).
If the .EXE self-extracting archive does not work on your Windows version, the contents are also available as a .zip archive.
Once the files are decompressed, look in the newly created SILGREEK directory for the Installation Guide GKINST.PDF. Follow the instructions in this document to install the full SIL Greek Font System. Note that you will need Adobe Acrobat to read the Installation Guide.
SIL Greek Font System Keyboards for use with Keyman 6 (Aug-2002)
These are replacement keyboards for the Keyman 3.2 keyboards which came with the SIL Greek Font System. They have been compiled for use with Keyman 6.
The original keyboards were written for Keyman 3.2 and do not function with Keyman 5 or 6. No corrections or additions have been made to these keyboards. They do not use Unicode.
Downloading and Installing the Macintosh Package
To download the full package (including the fonts, utilities and documentation) click one of the links below. The download file will be either a MacBinary .bin or BinHex file .hqx. Use Stuffit Expander or similar utility to decode the file. The result will be a self-extracting archive, SIL Greek Font System.sea.
If your utility has not already decompressed the contents of the archive, double-click on it. This will create a new folder on your hard drive named SIL Greek Font System. Look in this folder for the SIL Greek Fonts Install Guide. Follow the instructions in this document to install the full SIL Greek Font System. Note that you will need Adobe Acrobat to read the Installation Guide.
