This is mainly for Windows users, but the fonts can be directly installed on both Mac OS X and many GNU/Linux distributions. Documentation has DOS line endings.
As above, but packaged as a Windows installer.
This is identical to the Windows package, but wraps up the fonts in a traditional Macintosh suitcase. Required for Mac OS 9, optional for Mac OS X. Documentation has Macintosh line endings. Note - original .zip replaced with .sit to work better on some Mac OS 9 systems.
This package is all that is needed for Ubuntu (as well as other Debian-based GNU/Linux distributions). If you are interested in other types of packages, source tarballs and other information please consult the Gentium GNU/Linux page. Documentation has Unix line endings. Installation and UseOnce the package has been downloaded, you will need a decompression utility such as WinZip (Windows) or Stuffit Expander (Macintosh) to expand the archive. Mac OS X will automatically expand the archive. Windows XP has a built-in archive expander. Within the archive are the font files and a Read Me. The Read Me includes basic instructions for installing the fonts (also repeated here). GNU/Linux users should review our Gentium GNU/Linux page for specific instructions and detailed information. Further information is available here: Decompression Utilities, Downloading & Installation Tips. Note that these packages only include the fonts themselves. If you want to use the fonts to type languages that use special non-European letters, or to type Greek, then you may need a separate keyboard manager. More information on this can be found on our Support page. You may also wish to download type specimens that show the full complement of glyphs in Gentium and include samples of the fonts in use. They are included in the GNU/Linux packages. These documents do not, however, give any technical assistance.
