SIL Tai Dam Font Requirements

SIL Tai Dam and Unicode

This SIL Tai Dam fonts are a pre-Unicode or “legacy” font system. These fonts are superceded by the Unicode-encoded Tai Heritage Pro font.

These fonts and keyboards were designed for the following systems:

Windows 98
Windows 95
Windows 3.1
Mac OS System 7 – 9 (including Classic mode under Mac OS X)

Windows NT is not supported (the fonts are usable, but the keyboard will not work).

Windows users will also need the Keyman keyboarding utility. It is not included in the SIL Tai Dam Fonts package and must be downloaded separately.

Macintosh users will also to have the WorldScript I extension installed (part of Apple System Software). It is not included in the SIL Tai Dam Fonts package, but is available as a Custom Install item in versions of the Mac OS that supported WorldScript I.

Both Macintosh and Windows users will need the free Adobe Acrobat Reader to read and print the documentation.
